Jellyfish Skirt

The Jellyfish Skirt was designed in order to visualize how electrical signals could be used to imitate these beautiful sea creatures who are often able to display an incredible show of lights. The structure of the skirt makes the fiber optics move like jellyfish floating in the ocean.

The Jellyfish Skirt is made out of 42 multicolored lights and fiber optic strands. The strands are bundled and attached to each LED, sending pulses of light through the clear fibers. An integrated microcontroller controls the color of each light, individually. The Jellyfish Skirt can light up in more than 16 million different colors.
